While I have seen the Scriptures become the vehicle through which God has changed and challenged lives for the good, I also have found them being used in ways that break the human spirit, tilt at plain common sense, and lead to practices which deny the very reality of God as love. Meanwhile, the Reformed continue to hold on to the sola scriptura principle despite its theological basis being undermined by biblical scholarship. This has led me to ask serious questions about the place and role of the Bible in today’s church and thereby move towards a revisionary view of biblical authority”.
